Serene morning view from hospital bed

Learning to Listen the Hard Way

Lifestyle

There are moments in life that do not ask for your permission.

They arrive unannounced. They interrupt your plans, your rhythm, your sense of control. They shake something within you that you did not even realize needed to be shaken. And in an instant, everything that once felt certain becomes uncertain.

The past month or so has been one of those moments for me.

What initially felt like something minor, something I could easily overcome on my own – like a cold or a flu – turned into something far more serious. After weeks of low energy, cloudiness in my head, and discovering abnormal growth within part of my body, it eventually led to not one, but two life-saving treatments in the hospital within less than a week. Suddenly my life came to a complete stop. A forced pause that I did not choose, but ultimately needed.

Physically, the last few weeks has been exhausting. Mentally, totally overwhelming. Emotionally, confronting in ways I did not expect.

There was a part of me that wanted to push through, to stay strong, to continue moving forward as planned. That part of me believed that slowing down was not an option. But life had other intentions. And this time, it made sure I listened.

The Truth We Often Ignore

There is a truth many of us resist, even when it is right in front of us. But let me say something that might be uncomfortable, but necessary: Ignoring the signals your body gives you can be dangerous. Even life-threatning. Which I learned the hard way.

Not because we are careless, but because we are human. We adapt. We override. We convince ourselves that what we feel is temporary, manageable, or simply not important enough to stop for.

We learn to function through fatigue. We normalize discomfort. We silence the quiet signals that something is not quite right. Until those signals are no longer so quiet.

And yet, this is where compassion becomes essential.

Because when you look back, it is easy to judge yourself. To question why you did not act sooner. To feel frustration or even guilt for not listening to your body earlier.

But what is often happening in those moments is not ignorance. It is shock. It is disbelief. It is the mind trying to protect you from something that feels too big, too sudden, or too real to fully process.

I experienced that firsthand.

That morning when I went to the emergency room, I did not go there expecting anything serious. I have the attitude that I’m never really sick, but this morning was a bit different as I was in severe pain, and I knew my fever was really high. Still, I went there thinking I would receive medication and return home. Instead, I was met with urgency, a battery of tests was taken within a couple of hours, and I faced a reality I had not prepared myself for.

There was a gap between what I believed was happening and what was actually happening. And in that gap, there was denial, not out of weakness, but out of protection.

This is part of being human.

And in that space, what is needed is not judgment, but understanding. Not self-criticism, but compassion. And the hospital staff found their way to get through to me so I realized the seriousness of the situation.

The Delay That Became a Deepening

This experience delayed the launch of the E.V.A. Method™. And that was not easy for me to accept in the beginning.

There is a natural desire to stay on track, to follow through, to move forward without interruption. And when something disrupts that momentum, it can feel like you are falling behind.

But something shifted as I moved through this period of time. I began to see that this was not taking me away from my work. It was taking me deeper into it.

Because everything I teach is not meant to exist only in theory. It is meant to be lived, and especially in moments that challenge you the most.

These are not concepts reserved for when life feels easy. They are practices that reveal their true power when life becomes uncertain.

Being faced with not one, but two life-saving treatments brought a question into my awareness that I could not ignore. Had I truly been living fully? Not conceptually. Not intellectually. But in a grounded, present, embodied way.

The answer did not come all at once. It surfaced slowly, through moments of stillness, through the fog of medication, through physical weakness, through being forced to let go of control.

In that space, something became very clear. Life is not something to assume you have time for later. And, for me, being given another opportunity to be here, to continue, to create, to help and serve others, is not something to I take lightly.

Why the E.V.A. Method™ Is Different

There is a belief I stand firmly in. You cannot truly teach something you have not lived. You can study it. You can understand it. You can communicate it. But awareness and embodiment comes from experience. And it is embodiment that creates real transformation.

The E.V.A. Method™ is not just about shifting your mindset or thinking differently. It is about becoming aware of what is real for you, aligning with what is true for you and in alignment with your true purpose in life, and activating change from that place. It is about learning to listen before life forces you to. I mean, why wait for the “right moment,” the perfect timing, or the dramatic turning point to change your life for the better. Maybe even help others do the same…

And if life does force you to, it is about knowing how to respond in a way that brings you back into alignment, rather than further away from yourself.

This experience has not weakened the method. It has strengthened it. Because it has been lived under pressure, not just practiced in comfort. And I’m now able to serve you at an even deeper level.

A Mini Lesson from the E.V.A. Method™

One of the most important lessons that has deepened for me through this experience is this: Awareness always comes first, but it does not always come gently.

Sometimes it shows up as a quiet feeling, a subtle knowing, something you can easily overlook if you choose to. And sometimes it arrives in a way that cannot be ignored. When awareness is dismissed repeatedly, it does not disappear. It intensifies.

Learning to listen at the level of a whisper can prevent the need for a wake-up call. This is where the real practice begins. It is not about perfection. It is about presence.

Learning to Listen the Hard Way

It is about being willing to notice what you feel, even when it is inconvenient. It is about honoring what your body is communicating, even when it disrupts your plans. It is about trusting that slowing down is not failure, but alignment.

The E.V.A. Method™ is built on this sequence of awareness, alignment, and activation. Not as an idea, but as a way of living.

This Is Not Just About Me

This experience is not something I share for sympathy or attention. It is something I share because it clarified something deeply for me. I am still here for a reason.

And that reason is bigger than my own experience. It is about helping others become aware before they are forced to. Maybe not as dramatically as my own experience. It is about guiding people back into alignment with themselves before life creates a situation that demands it. To support others in activating change from a place of truth, not fear.

If this moment has taught me anything, it is that the work I am doing matters.

Have I figured it all out? Absolutely not! The E.V.A. Method™ is not about one time will fix it all. It’s a lifelong journey of growth. About empowerment from within. About your vision of living to your fullest potential, and the actions that will come from that state of being.

And it is meant to reach more people who want more for themselves and others. If you’re in a season where life is asking you to pause, listen, or recalibrate… Trust that there is something here for you too.

Ready to Go Deeper?

Because of the delay, I have decided to extend Founder Access to the E.V.A. Method™ for a limited time. This will only be available to a small number of people, and access will be given on a first-come basis.

If you feel that something in this message resonates with you, this is your moment to step in.

And if you are not fully ready for that level of commitment, but you feel the need for a space where you can grow, connect, and begin embodying this work at your own pace, you are invited to join my FREE Skool community.

Both opportunities are designed to support you in moving from where you are to where you know you are meant to be.

Growth does not always look the way we expect it to. Sometimes it looks like progress. And sometimes it looks like stillness. Sometimes it looks like expansion. And sometimes it looks like being asked to stop and listen.

But in every case, there is an invitation. An invitation to become more aware. To realign with what is true. To activate a different way of living.

If you are reading this, do not wait for a wake-up call to begin that process. Start now. Listen now. Choose differently now.

Step into the E.V.A. Method™ and begin embodying the awareness, alignment, and activation that will change the way you live your life.

You are here for a reason. Now it is time to act on it!

Let’s evolve.
Let’s align.
Let’s activate.

Continuous treatment:
As I’m writing this, 3 weeks after the hospitalization, I’m still undergoing treatment. However, I have been discharged from the hospital and slowly getting back to my new normal. This blog post may be updated in the weeks ahead.
