Holistic Joint Support

Healing My Joints: A Holistic Journey Back to Flexibility

Health

A few months ago, I woke up one morning and noticed a tiny little lump on my right pinky finger – on the joint closest to the nail. Being the reasonable (and slightly optimistic) human that I am, I assumed I’d bumped it into something without noticing. Surely, it would go down on its own.

There was no pain, no bruising, nothing dramatic.

Just a tiny swollen joint that looked more curious than concerning and minding its own business. And for a while I convinced myself  it would simply… go away on its own.

But after an initial reduction, the swelling slowly returned – and with it, a new stiffness in the finger. Still painless, but definitely noticeable. Especially when typing, writing, or doing anything that required nimble fingers (which, let’s be honest, is my entire life and business).

That’s when I decided it was time to let my GP have a look at it. And just for you to understand a little bit of my relationship with the health care service, it’s been 10 years since I last initiated a doctor’s appointment as I generally look upon myself as having no health issues that needs a doctor’s opinion…

Little did I know that this small moment would lead me into a holistic journey back to flexibility and healing my joints – blending science, supplements, lifestyle shifts, and conscious healing in a way I never expected.

My doctor examined my pinky and said, “Most likely a benign cyst, but let’s be sure,” and referred me to an orthopedic specialist. One week later, I saw the specialist who confirmed the cyst – but also added, “You might have arthritis.” Not exactly the phrase you hope to hear before lunch.

Healing My Joints

So off I went to a rheumatology specialist for more testing (and more waiting). Blood tests, X-rays, the full orchestra.

And voilà: Yes, I do have a benign cyst on my little finger which by the way, they won’t do anything with as long it’s not bothering me).

Turns out, I also have signs of osteoarthritis in 8 of my 10 fingers.

Not exactly news you pop champagne over, but also not the disaster it might sound like.

I’m incredibly grateful that I caught this early, have no pain whatsoever, and have a clear opportunity to support my body before symptoms progress.

A Holistic-Friendly Treatment Plan

Here’s the part that genuinely made me smile from ear to ear: The rheumatologist prescribed supplements instead of medication.

YES! No anti-inflammatories, no heavy pharmaceuticals – just targeted support to help my joints stay mobile, nourished, and happy (how did she know me that well?). This felt like a personal victory, because unless truly necessary, I’d much rather take the holistic path.

The kind doctor suggested to take the recommended supplements for 3 months and come back for a check-up after that.

But of course… you know me. On my way home, I had a thought:

“Hold on. I have a unique opportunity here.” Why not combine the physical support with what Dr. Joe Dispenza teaches about healing through conscious intention and the mind-body connection?

If my body can create changes I didn’t ask for… surely it can create changes I do ask for.

I’m in an early stage of my ostearthritis. I have zero pain (thank you, universe). But I do notice stiffness and less flexibility in several joints to be honest – probably not helped by all my hours at the keyboard and my very inconsistent habit of stretching my hands, and other limbs in fact.

So now, I’m determined: To support my joints – not just my fingers – physically, mentally, energetically, and consciously.

Why My Doctor's Supplement Recommendation a Targeted Joint Support

As someone who already takes supplements for wellbeing, I thought I understood how they worked. But this diagnosis made me curious – what exactly makes joint support different from general health supplements?

This part absolutely fascinated me. And the more I learned, the more it made sense why my doctor chose this route instead of traditional medication.

The supplement she recommended is called Colnatur Condroactiv, and unlike my usual wellness boosters – marine collagen, omega-3, hormonal support – this one is designed specifically for joints experiencing cartilage wear and reduced lubrication (aka osteoarthritis, especially in tiny finger joints like mine), inflammation reduction, mobility, and tissue protection.

What Makes Colnatur Condroactiv a “Targeted Joint Support” Supplement?

(Translation: Why it actually does something for joints rather than just making expensive urine.)

It contains three essential components that my existing supplements do not: glucosamine, chondroitin, and hyaluronic acid.

And here’s something important: This isn’t just for finger support. It’s for general joint health, too.

Even though my diagnosis is in my fingers, osteoarthritis is not shy – it’s known for showing up in knees, hips, wrists, spine, and toes as we get older.

Men and women alike experience natural cartilage wear over time. Most people don’t notice it until stiffness, clicking, or mild aches begin to appear. Supporting joint health early is one of the best things we can do for long-term mobility and comfort.

So while I’m doing this to help my fingers now, I’m also supporting the rest of my joints for the future. A beautiful side benefit I’m more than happy to receive.

Below is an expanded explanation of what each ingredient does and why it matters – especially for anyone exploring natural ways to support joints.

Bioactive Collagen Peptides Fortigel®

Fortigel® isn’t your average beauty-collagen. It is a specialised collagen peptide designed to support cartilage repair through stimulation of chondrocytes – the cells that produce cartilage.

Why it matters:

Osteoarthritis involves thinning cartilage, reduced elasticity, micro-cracks, and less protection during movement.

Fortigel® promotes new collagen formation, cartilage cushioning, and smoother joint motion, and it works systemically, supporting knees, hips, wrists, and spinal joints – not just fingers

Glucosamine

Your body uses glucosamine to produce cartilage, ligaments, and synovial fluid. As we age, natural glucosamine production decreases. This is a major contributor to stiffness.

Supplementing it helps rebuild the materials that make joints more flexible and comfortable again.

Chondroitin

Think of chondroitin as the “water sponge” of cartilage.

Chondroitin acts like a hydration magnet in your cartilage. It helps cartilage retain water so it stays cushioned, flexible, and able to absorb impact.

This is crucial not only for the hands, but especially for weight-bearing joints like knees and hips.

Hyaluronic Acid

This is the magic molecule in synovial fluid – your natural joint lubricant.

Healthy joints glide smoothly because of thick, gel-like synovial fluid. With osteoarthritis, this fluid becomes thinner. Hyaluronic acid helps restore smooth movement and reduces stiffness.

For small joints where injections aren’t practical, oral HA is the next best thing. Hyaluronic acid restores lubrication, reducing stiffness everywhere – from fingers to ankles.

Vitamin C, Magnesium & Copper

Although I’m already taking these through my already established supplement supplies, I’m convinced it won’t hurt to take a little bit more. These support collagen synthesis, muscle relaxation, antioxidant protection, and connective tissue health.

Together, they create an environment where cartilage can be supported rather than degraded.

So what does all this mean for me?

It means I’m not helpless. It means there are natural, supportive ways to slow progression, improve flexibility, reduce stiffness, nourish joint tissue, and pair it all with conscious healing

And importantly: I’m catching this early. Early-stage support is the most effective support.

I may not heal myself (or my joints), however, with Dr. Joe’s support and the belief that I can, who knows what the future holds for my joints..?

Adding Lifestyle, Food, and Conscious Healing to the Mix

I’ve decided to follow the supplement plan the doctor recommended for me. And along with the supplement plan, I’m exploring a more holistic approach.

This includes (but not limited to) Dr. Joe Dispenza’s healing meditations, daily hand mobility exercises, warm water soaks, ergonomic typing practices, and conscious breathing to soften tension.

And – this still surprises me – I’m looking into foods that support joint health.

As someone who prefers my meals served to me (preferably with a side of love and zero dishes), I’m now exploring turmeric-based meals, ginger soups, omega-3 rich plates, colourful anti-inflammatory veggie bowls, and Mediterranean-inspired dishes.

If this isn’t a sign of personal growth, I don’t know what is.

Mediterranean-style Anti-Inflammatory Meal

My intention is simple: Support my joints so they can support me – in my work, my writing, my life, and my mission.

I’m not “sick.” I’m not broken. My body is simply asking for a little more care, presence, and nourishment. And I’m happy to give it.

What Has Helped You?

If YOU have ever supported your joints holistically – whether through supplements, diet, meditation, mobility exercises, acupuncture, energy healing, or something unconventional.

I would LOVE to hear about your experience!

Share it in the comments so other readers (and I!) can learn from you.

Your story could help someone else begin their own healing journey – and who knows, this might grow into something bigger than a single blog post.
