The Fundamentals of Success

Success Principles

Learn about and study The Success Principles to figure out the fundamentals of success, so you can go from where you are today to where you want to be.

Take 100% Responsibility For Your Life!

“You must take personal responsibility.
You cannot change the circumstances,
the seasons, or the wind,
but you can change yourself.”
~Jim Rohn

Whether you like it or not, YOU, and only YOU, are responsible for the quality of your life and how you live it.

For you to get to where you want to go from where you are today, you must give up your excuses, stop blaming & complaining, and take 100% responsibility for your life…

Wasting your valuable time on making excuses, blaming and complaining will NOT make any change in your life…

So, if you want to go from where you are today to where you want to go in the future, this success principle is one of the most important success principles to master.

Be Clear Why You’re Here!

“Decide upon your major definite purpose in life
and then organize all your activities around it.”
~Brian Tracy

I’ve come to believe that every single one of us is born with a life purpose. We were born into this life for a reason.

Successful people understand this, and that’s why they take the time to identify, acknowledge, and honor their life purpose.

They do this because when truly and passionately on purpose, the people, resources, and opportunities they need will naturally gravitate to them.

And because of this, the world at large benefits too, because they automatically serve others.

If you haven’t defined your purpose in life, reach out and I’ll show you an easy exercise you can do to define YOUR LIFE PURPOSE.

Decide What You Want!

“Decide what it is you want, write it down,
review it constantly, and each day
do something that moves you
toward those goals.”

~Jack Canfield

Too many people only focus on what they want to have, without thinking about what they need to become and what they need to do for them to actually have what they want…

If you can accept that you as a person have to grow first, and then take inspired action that will take you towards your dreams, desires and goals, there are no limitations to what you can actually achieve and have!

Unleash the Power Of Goal-Setting!

“If you are bored with life,
if you don’t get up every morning with
a burning desire to do things
– you don’t have enough goals.”

~Lou Holtz

Once you know your life purpose, you should determine your vision, and clarify what your true desires are.

Convert them into specific, measurable goals and objectives, and then act on them with 100% belief that you will achieve them.

Experts on the science of success know the mind is a goal-seeking organism.

Whatever you suppress upon your subconscious mind, it will work day and night to achieve.

See What You Want, Get What You See

“Create a vision of who you want to be,
and then live into that picture
as if it were already true.”

~Arnold Schwartzenegger

Some will argue that the act of creating compelling and vivid pictures in your mind – may be the most underutilized success tool you possess.

This because it greatly accelerates the achievement of any success in three powerful ways.

1) Visualization activates your subconscious mind’s creative powers
2) Visualization focuses your brain to notice available resources that always were there
3) Visualization magnetizes and attracts all the people, resources, and opportunities you need to achieve your goal

By adding sounds and feelings to your imagined pictures, and your emotions will propel your vision forward.

There is something magical about powerful visualizations, and you should never underestimate the power of learning how to properly visualize.

Believe It’s Possible!

“You can be anything you want to be,
if only you believe with sufficient conviction
and act in accordance with your faith;
for whatever the mind can conceive and believe,
the mind can achieve.

~Napoleon Hill

Through a lifetime’s worth of events, our mind actually learns what to expect next – whether it eventually happens that way or not.

And because our brain expects something will happen a certain way, we often achieve exactly what we anticipate.

This is why it’s so important to hold positive expectations in your mind!

When you replace your old negative expectations and beliefs with more positive ones – when you begin to believe that what you want is possible – your mind will actually take over the job of accomplishing that possibility for you.

And even better than that, your mind will actually expect to achieve that outcome.

Believe In Yourself!

“You weren’t an accident.
You weren’t mass produces.
You aren’t an assembly-line product.
You were deliberately planned, specifically gifted,
and lovingly positioned on the Earth
by the Master Craftsman.

~Max Lucado

If you are going to be successful in creating the life of your dreams, you have to BELIEVE that you’re capable of making it happen.

Believing in yourself is an attitude you develop over time.

If you assume in favor of yourself and act as if it is possible, then you will do the things that are necessary to bring about the result.

If you don’t believe in yourself at the moment, borrow others belief in you until you do believe you can.

The choice is yours!

Take Action

“Things may come to those who wait,
but only the things left by those who hustle.”

~Abraham Lincoln

Ever heard the phrase: “Talk is cheap”? Well, it’s another way of saying that the universe rewards action.

You see, when you have a brilliant idea and nourish it with thoughts that end up in you taking action, you set things in motion towards your success.

This is what successful people do, they simply get up and do what has to be done.

If you need to learn a new skill that is required to accomplish your goal, well, that is a practical action you just do.

You can also have a brilliant idea, but if you don’t act on that, it will simply just be an idea. When you have an inspired idea and thought, act on that hunch. Or maybe your gut feeling is telling you yes or no, listen to it.

Don’t worry if you don’t know how to do it, just get going, and trust the process and that you will figure it out on your way.

Experience Your Fear and Take Action Anyway

“We come this way but once.
We can either tiptoe through life and hope that
we get to death without being too badly bruised or
we can live a full, complete life achieving our goals and realizing our wildest dreams.

~Bob Proctor

As you move forward on your journey from where you are to where you want to be, you’re going to have to face your fears.

Fear is natural. Don’t let it stop you from doing what you want to do — or have to do.

Fear is not necessarily a bad thing, it is one of the inbuilt human survival instincts, and nothing more.

Persevering through and in spite of fear, stems from a determination to succeed and make a difference in your life and those of other people.

The key here is to look at fear as a good thing.

The negative side of fear is when it holds you back from doing something positive. Now, imagine what you could concur if you first embrace the positive first, and find ways to face the fear and do it anyway to manifest that positive 😉

Ask! Ask! Ask!

“You’ve got to ask. Asking is, in my opinion,
the world’s most powerful and neglected secret
to success and happiness.”

~Percy Ross

To get anything you have to ask for it! Whether you ask yourself for it or asking others is not the point here… The point is: You have to ask for what you want!

Not asking, are you holding yourself back from getting the information you want, the assistance, the support, the money, and the time you need to do whatever it is you envision yourself doing…

And you have to be clear and specific, and you’ll have to expect that you will get it. It might show up in a different way than you first thought it would, but you must have the belief that you deserve what you are asking for, and that it will eventually be given to you.

You have nothing to lose by asking but everything to gain!

Use Feedback to Your Advantage

“We all need people who give us feedback.
That’s how we improve.”

~Bill Gates

Whatever it is you are doing today, you always get some kind of feedback. Whether you are consciously aware of them or not!

Now, many of us have a tendency of looking at feedback as either negative or positive. Very few look at them as constructive feedback, or feedback that can course correct what we are already doing.

Going for our goals can be a challenge, and sometimes we want to give up.

But think of it this way…

You want to go from A to B, but you are not 100% sure how to do that. You know where you are, and you know the address of where you want to go. So, you plot it into the GPS on your phone, and off you go.

You trust you will get there, but on the way, you might take the wrong turn… The GPS either tells you to go back or find another route for you. Eventually, you will reach your goal.

Now, if you for whatever reason decide to stop at place C because it looks better than the promise of B. So, if you keep setting your goals, but settle for something else on the way, that is a pattern you should be aware of.

If you are okay with settling, fine, but what if your real goal would be so much better, why not go for it?

So, when you get any kind of feedback, be grateful for it and ask yourself, will this help me to course-correct and keep moving forward or will it keep me at the level I’ve always been at 😉

Practice Persistence!

“Most people give up just when they’re about to achieve success. They quit on the one-yard line.
They give up at the last minute of the game,
one foot from a winning touchdown.”

~H. Ross Perot

It is said that the single most common quality of high achievers is persistence.

It’s easy to “work it” when things are going smoothly, however, sometimes the Universe gives us tests to see if we really want what we say we want.

Facing obstacles and encounter what may seem like overwhelming odds at first glance is simply part of life.

The going can get hard, and it will require you to get it done anyway, no matter what.

You don’t know what waiting for you “just around the corner”, you just have to have faith and belief that you somehow will get through whatever obstacle you are facing, and keep going no matter what.

By giving up, you will never know what might have been!

To overcome your obstacles you’ll have to be – or learn to become – solution orientated. There is always a way over, around, or through any roadblock!

Trust that you’ll find the solution as long as you spend time looking for them.

Inquire Within!

“The intellect has little to do on the road to discovery. There comes a leap in consciousness,
call it intuition or what you will,
and the solution comes to you,
and you don’t know how or why.”

~Albert Einstein

There is a part of you that is much smarter than you think you are. You have a hidden source within you, your natural genius.

And don’t think this doesn’t include you, because it does! You just have to learn to tap into it.

All the answers you need and want lie within you, not outside you. You only need to tap into your intuition, one of the 6 Higher Mental Faculties, to figure out how to manifest all your desires.

Intuition is not something relegated to just a few people. Everyone has it, and everyone has experienced it. Consciously or not…

If you are not in tune with your intuition you can train your intuitive mental muscle through meditation and mindfulness.

Clean Up Your Messes and Your Incompletes!

“If a cluttered desk is the sign of a cluttered mind,
what is the significance of a clean desk?”

~Laurence J. Peter

How many times do you start something but never completes it? I mean, you started tidying up the living room, and you finished that… However, your goal was to tidy it up so you could clean it, but that you didn’t…

Your mind is like a memory bank, and all those things incomplete will build up as “clutter” on your mind.

Or maybe you want some new clothes, however, your wardrobe is so full you can even get a new pair of socks in there. You are hanging on to clothes you never use “just in case”, and then instead of giving room for something new, you again “clutter” your mind…

The same goes for your life, if there’s anything new you want in your life, you must make room for it, physically as well as psychologically.

What about that painting on the wall that is always hanging on a 5-degree angle, and it irritates you, yet you do nothing about it. Again, that builds up the “clutter” on your mind…

Make a list of all your messes and incompletes – at home, in your car, at work, or in your business – and start completing them one by one!

You’ll be amazed by how great your life will become!

Drop Out of the “Ain’t It Awful” Club…

“There are two types of people
– anchors and motors.
You want to lose the anchors and
get with the motors because
the motors are going somewhere and
they’re having more fun.
The anchors will just drag you down.”

~Robert Wyland

Jim Rohn once said: “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”

Good questions to ask yourself:
🗯 Who do I spend the most time with?
🗯 What are they doing to me?
🗯 What have they got me reading, thinking, saying?
🗯 What have they got me becoming?
🗯 Where have they got me going?

If you are not happy with the answers, here is what you need to do…

Change the environment of people you spend the most time with!

If you want to grow, if you want to learn more, you simply can’t do so if you’re surrounded by people who are – consciously or not – holding you back…

What you focus on you become! Now, it’s up to YOU to decide WHAT to focus on, don’t let others do that for you!

Mastermind Your Way to Success

“When two or more people coordinate in a spirit
of harmony and work toward a definite objective
or purpose, they place themselves in position,
through the alliance, to absorb power directly from
the great storehouse of Infinite Intelligence.”

~Napoleon Hill

Two heads are better than one when it comes to solving any issues and come up with new ideas and create new results, right?

Successful people understand the importance of Mastermind groups and make sure they are in such a group, often with people that have already achieved the level of success they want to achieve.

The cool thing is, you can have an old idea that you still want to find a solution for, and by presenting it to a Mastermind group, you can tune into their level of knowledge, awareness, and thought process, and receive new inspiration and steps to take on how to go from your idea to the “real deal”.

And never underestimate yourself, even if people in the group are more successful than you, you probably DO have something to contribute with, that the group – or individuals in the group – didn’t think about before.

We all tend to get stuck in our tracks from time to time, so by presenting the issue to a group, you’ll be tapping into new thoughts, new ideas, and new resources that can help you move forward and accelerate your growth.

Have a Heart Talk

“Most communication resembles a Ping-Pong game
in which people are merely preparing to slam their next point across; but pausing to understand
differing points of view and associated feeling
can turn apparent opponents into
true members of the same team.”

~Cliff Durfee

Unfortunately, in too many business, educational, and other settings, there is never an opportunity for feelings to be expressed and heard, so they build up to the point that people have no capacity to focus on the business at hand. There is too much emotional static in the space.

Here is the thing… People can’t really listen until they have been heard. They first need to get whatever is bothering them off their chest.

If you want people to listen to you, you first need to let the other people speak about their needs and wants, about their hopes and dreams, about their fears and concerns, or about their hurts and pains, before you talk about yours.

It opens up a space inside of them so they’re able to listen and take in whatever it is you have to say 😉

Develop a Positive Money Consciousness

“There is a secret psychology to money.
Most people don’t know about it.
That’s why most people never
become financially successful.
A lack of money is not the problem;
it is merely a symptom of
what’s going on inside you.”

~T. Harv Eker

If you want to become wealthy, you have to identify, erase and replace any negative and limiting money beliefs. Often we don’t even know we have them, but your current money situation will tell the truth…

These limiting beliefs might be buried deep down in our subconscious mind, like “money doesn’t grow on trees”, “it’s selfish to want a lot of money, or “money is the root of all evil.”

Any limiting thoughts around money can sabotage and dilute our financial success in life, so it is important to become aware of them so we can in fact eliminate them.

Become consciously aware of your limiting money beliefs, and challenge them, and make fun of them, and then create positive statements instead, like “money is the root of great vacations”, or “I am making positive choices about what to do with my money.”

Positive money affirmation – repeated daily over time – will help you create a more positive money belief, that over time will lead to a more abundant and prosperous life.

Act As If!

“To fly as fast as thought,
to be anywhere there is,
you must first begin by knowing
that you have already arrived.”

~Richard Bach

Many people struggle with the words “Act As If”, and I was for sure one of them.

Now, to make it a bit clearer… Acting “as if” really means thinking, talking, dressing, acting, and feeling like you have already achieved your goals. 🏆

If you want to become the kind of person who is capable of achieving your dreams, you must FIRST act as if you already ARE that person!

It’s about doing the work successful people do in order to achieve their most ambitious goals.

It’s about taking risks and cultivating the kind of confidence, faith, and resilience that empowers successful people to persevere in the face of any obstacle.

Though some people may choose to “dress the part” and wear high-quality clothes to make themselves feel more confident and professional, remember it’s not all about your APPEARANCE – it’s also about your ATTITUDE.

And, just as a reminder; ATTITUDE is a sum of your thoughts, feelings, and actions.

If you want to change your outcome, your current circumstances, and your results, you must first change yourself.

Acting “as if” sends out powerful commands to your subconscious mind to find creative ways to achieve your dreams.

It programs the reticular activating system (RAS) in your brain to start noticing anything that will help you succeed.

It also sends out strong messages to the universe that this end goal is something you really want, and you’ll do whatever it takes to get there!
